Over a year ago I  got inspired to start a blog for Celebrations Catering.  An abundance of weddings  took over my time, then we expanded, opening Cafe C, and whew, time flew.  Since July is our slowest month, I’ve taken a few weeks off from catering to relax, travel and gather thoughts and more inspiration.  I assigned Giovanni  (Unique Designs) to create this site for me while I was gone… AND I LOVE WHAT HE DID!  Now it’s up to me to keep it fun and creative for those who enjoy event planning, weddings, and food.

I’m happy to say that since 1995 when I catered my first luncheon, I am still just as googoo over this (job) profession .  I still wake up excited to come to work, and I daily appreciate the fact that I get to have fun and be creative, all in the name of work!

I hope the photos and information here will inspire you and help you make decisions about your own upcoming events.  My main goal with the cateringcrumbs blog is to educate our readers on what options and trends are out there for them.  No more boring parties with white polyester tablecloths… Less yawning at weddings, and more guests chatting about great parties by Celebrations!

Most brides want white wood wedding chairs,  or they over-pay for ornate gold chiavari chairs.  When seating guests at your wedding reception try choosing something different.  At Celebrations we offer alternatives, something  beautiful for your wedding, but less conventional.

We do realize that Southern brides mostly prefer keeping with tradition, so my first choice to purchase clear acrylic contemporary chairs didn’t make the cut!

Before you pay too much for the white or gold wedding chairs, and before you borrow  metal folding chairs, check with us.  We have black garden chairs and natural wood garden chairs, both with padded seats (guests appreciate this thought).

Our prices are competative and your photo album will thank you.  And, thanks to JS Photography for these very lovely chair photos!

Erin Does it ALL!

July 30, 2009

Our Lead Event Planner at Celebrations Catering is Erin Hagfors.  Not only is she the most organized person I have ever met, she bartends like no other, she never gets tired, she never cries when things go wrong, and most of all…she makes my job so much easier!  Perry Construction appreciated her attentive services last year and now it’s time for their annual party again this August.  Go Erin, we’ll need an encore at the bar!

Add a decorative curtain,a couple of orange uplights, a cake plateau and some ribbon, and WOW, you have a centerpiece for your wedding reception.  Please don’t hide your wedding cake in the corner, it deservers its rightful place in the center of the dance floor.  (move the table later after the cake has been served…of course)

I met with A ‘vie Weddings & Events this morning and was introduced to Amy Keene, Angela’s new planner.

AMY IS OFFERING FREE EVENT CONSULTATIONS!

Here’s what she had to say!    …”Whether you are looking for help in your planning process, need some tips on vendors… or simply would like one of North Florida’s top wedding and event planners to help you with your vision… I want to help !  I love working with Angela because she’s so professional and well-respected in the community!  This is my dream job!  I’m booking events already since A’vie is so prominent in Gainesville and Ocala, and I can’t wait to get to know everyone.  I’m willing to offer the free consultations  as build my own clientele and expand A’vie’s excellent reputation.”

Celebrations Catering works very frequently with A ‘vie ,  and I can testify to  the extreme amount of detail they accomplish with each event they handle.  When I hear that A’vie is part of the vendor list at one of our events, I immediately know things will be perfect!amy keeneamy keene

Celebrations Unveiled

July 22, 2009

A Celebrations’ wedding has been featured in Weddings Unveiled Magazine …on newstands now. (Page number 45 and 46 )  Maggie and Chip Hunter got married at the Thomas Center recently and Celebrations designed the custom linens (there were three themes),  multiple food stations (one big party, not buffets), accent lights (inside and outside), lanterns (print and solids), cake backdrop (custom made to match the table linens), an decorative infused vodka station (five flavors…home made by the bride and groom) etc…  THIS WEDDING WAS SO BEAUTIFUL, it deserved the best photographer to capture all the details!  At Vue Photography,    Genya and Wesleyann are unique and fun to work with!  Love how they captured our work so perfectly!
